Moto2 champion and 2013 MotoGP rookie Marc Marquez is on his way to Japan for wind tunnel tests at HRC, ahead of a private test session at Sepang from November 26-28.
The Spanish teenager impressed by lapping 1.108s from the top during his first 27MotoGP laps with the Repsol Honda team, at the rain-delayed Valencia post-race test.
Team-mate and 2012 MotoGP runner-up Dani Pedrosa – fastest at the Valencia test – is scheduled to be taking part in a ‘Honda Racing Thanks Day’ with Marquez in Japan, but will not be joining Marquez on track in Malaysia.
Instead, Pedrosa will next be seen on a MotoGP bike in February, when official pre-season testing gets underway at the same circuit.
Ducati is also expected to hold a private test, at Jerez, before the start of the winter test ban on December 1, but Yamaha riders Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi are not expected to test again until February.
